Januik 2022 Weinbau Vineyard Cabernet Franc

This dark, rick Cabernet Franc has a nose loaded with blueberry, plum, and black fruit notes. Long and supple on the palate, it exhibits tremendous balance.The polished finish was developed in part from aging in new French oak barrels. 

Grapes for this wine are sourced from Weinbau Vineyard, located on the Wahluke Slope near Mattawa. The vineyard is one of the oldest in the area and is known for its particularly fine silty loam soils. This talcum powder-like soil provides good drainage and heat retention. Thanks in part to its location at the eastern section of the Wahluke Slope, the vineyard experiences more moderate temperatures than other parts of the growing region, allowing grapes longer hangtime to develop flavors fully.
